We just posted a new banner for PR Prescription on Gateway To Sedona. It took seconds to select the artwork, but it was an interesting challenge to come up with decent copy. We thought of some off-the-wall, attention-grabbing phrases, but in pitching ideas back and forth, we soon realized our audience may not have a clue about us unless we’re right to the point. Our fun “hospital and doctors” theme is only good if our purpose is clearly communicated. That means explaining how PR Prescription provides help with writing, and how regular publishing contributes to publicity (and ultimately the bottom line) for a business.
Help with writing can mean a lot of things beyond good grammar, style and spelling. It also means helping our customers develop concepts and ideas, sticking to a publishing plan, and meeting deadlines.
As in the case with our new banner, we needed good, short, attention-grabbing copy that explained our purpose. How can we say, in less than five words, ” We help you write your press release, article, resume, letter, or advertisement and provide copy editing and ghost writing services at a great price”? Gateway To Sedona Editor and Staff Writer Terree Duncan reflected on something we had written about PR Prescription when the website first launched, and it felt just right: “The Ultimate Writing Service.” After all, it is a writing service above all else. Now, our banner was complete.
